We’re Called to serve
“Make new friends, create memories, and foster a deeper conviction as a compassionate disciple of Christ wanting to bring more love and joy to all.”
Fr. Anthony
Holy Trinity Parish Nurse
The Parish Nurse Ministry promotes spiritual, emotional, and physical wellness to parishioners of all ages through education, advocacy, and health counseling.
The Parish Nurse helps one to achieve their optimal state of wellness by acting as a liaison between the parishioners and the resources within the parish, community, and healthcare system.

Helping Hands
As our parishioners age, they are in need of occasional assistance with transportation to Church or to a doctor’s appointment, occasional meals, and more. Can you help someone on their journey while you live the Gospel message? Any help, large or small, is welcome. We’ll put you on a list and contact you when the need arises.

Hospitality Team
So often during the year, events arise on our parish calendar that are hosted by the parish. These volunteers enhance our frequent celebrations with refreshments.
Some on the spur of the moment, others planned well in advance; these gatherings are enriched by food & drink! If you’re able and willing to lend a hand, you’re more than welcome to be part of this group!

HT Cafe
By extending the hospitality we proclaim at the table of the Eucharist on Sunday after Mass, we nurture a sense of community. Every FIRST Sunday of the month, the coffee pot will be brewing & the tea kettle whistling along with some sweets!
Bakers are encouraged to share treats. Those lacking baking skills are welcome to bring along some store-bought pastries.

Monthly Sandwich Making
Help feed the hungry! Grab a loaf of bread, add meat & cheese or peanut butter & jelly, wrap each one individually, and return them to the bread loaf’s plastic sleeve. Label the loaf with the contents. NO mayo or mustard, please.
On the 2nd Sunday of the month, there are coolers awaiting your contribution in the Parish Center vestibule between 7:30 AM and 1:00 PM!

St. Joseph's
Soup Kitchen
Holy Trinity provides a meal at St. Joseph’s Soup Kitchen in Elizabeth on one Saturday every other month. Volunteers prepare a main dish or cupcakes at home, bringing them to the parish rectory on the designated Friday. Early Prep
volunteers transport and warm up the food and prepare side dishes on-site at St. Joseph’s. Late-serve volunteers then dish out the meals. This is a very hands-on and rewarding service opportunity.

Westfield Food Pantry
The Westfield Food Pantry is housed on Holy Trinity’s
campus — in the school building. The pantry serves needy families in our area upon referrals from various agencies. Help is always needed to organize monthly donations, stack the shelves, sort food during three major food drives, and staff the pantry for client pick-up.

Located on the property of Holy Trinity School, the garden consists of twelve raised beds that produce fresh produce for the Food Pantry for over 125 Union County families.
This year, the garden supplied close to eight hundred pounds of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplants, lettuce, radishes, collards and more. Volunteer some time!

As children return to school, Operation Backpack gears up at Holy Trinity. We support children in need by filling new backpacks with school supplies which our summer faith formation kids pack. Annually, we’ve been able to brighten the lives of nearly 200 children in Union County.
We’ve made it even easier by setting up a ‘Wish List’ on
Amazon and you can even have the material shipped directly to the parish.
Generous members of our parish, not prone to shopping, contribute financially with checks made out to Holy Trinity Church/BACKPACKS. Volunteers help pack the supplies and sort and transport the backpacks.

Operation
Back-Pack
At Christmastime, we share our Spirit of gift-giving with those less fortunate. Our annual ‘Giving Tree’ supports Catholic Charities’ Union County families with gift cards, engages in the Adopt-a-Family project of Catholic Charities & for victims of abuse and human trafficking. We also assist St. Joseph’s with some generic clothing items for their clients.
There’s quite a bit of coordination needed — in preparing the gift tags for the tree and collecting & transporting items to the proper charity.
